Flavor Flav Arrested After Domestic Dispute

Public Enemy rapper is charged with assault with a deadly weapon in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning.

Flavor Flav is in hot water again. The Public Enemy rapper and larger-than-life hip-hop figure was arrested early Wednesday (October 17) morning after he reportedly threatened someone with a knife in his Las Vegas home.

The “911 is a Joke” rapper was arrested around 3 a.m. after getting into an argument with an unidentified teenager and his fiancée. According to TMZ, at some point during the argument, Flav, who was born William Drayton Jr., threatened one person with a knife and battered the other. It is unclear if the teenager is one of Flav’s many children or who he actually threatened and hit, but he is now facing felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic violence charges. Flavor was bailed out with $23,000 later in the morning.

It hasn’t been all bad news for Flavor though. Earlier this month, it was announced that Flav’s group Public Enemy were nominated alongside N.W.A and Donna Summer as nominees for the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class. Flav, along with the group’s lead MC Chuck D, changed the course of hip-hop in the 1980s and early 1990s with politically charged LP’s like It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back and Fear of a Black Planet. For the first time ever, fans will be able to vote on the nominees and if PE is inducted, they will join Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run-DMC and the Beastie Boys as the only hip-hop acts in the HoF.
